A Destination Wedding in Walla Walla

The Walla Walla Valley has more layers than the famous sweet onions it’s known for and fortunately, the only tears it brings are the kind inspired by breathtaking sunsets and rolling hills of vineyards.
Nestled in the Blue Mountain region of Washington State, Walla Walla offers all the charm of Napa minus the price tag. With its award-winning wineries, lavender fields, hot air balloon rides, and cozy accommodations, it’s no wonder this region has become a favorite for couples planning destination weddings.
One of my favorite weddings this season took place in the lush gardens of a vintage private estate. The couple envisioned a relaxed yet refined celebration—an outdoor gathering for 100 friends and family, with a farm-fresh menu that celebrated the bounty of the region.
Guests sipped two signature cocktails created especially for the occasion by our mixologist during cocktail hour before taking their seats at long, communal tables. The tables were set with the couple’s own collection of antique place settings and silver flatware, a perfect match for the ambiance of the historic home.
One of the most memorable touches? A cigar and bourbon bar tucked into a clearing beside the creek. As the sun set, the lavender-scented air was filled with laughter and the soft sounds of water flowing nearby. Guests lingered here late into the evening, sharing a nightcap and swapping stories under the stars.
It’s moments like these that remind us why we started Castle Event Catering. For us, creating magical, meaningful celebrations is not just our work, it’s our passion. Our “castle” isn’t just our home, it’s yours too.
Summer weddings in Walla Walla are beautiful well into October. If you’re planning a wedding, or any other kind of celebration, I’d be happy to show you some of our favorite venues, including our own: Anthology. Call us, or reply to this email. We personally read and respond to every message.
Warmly,
Kathy and Andy Craig
